  1. Energy always comes from the sun, then to a producer which converts sunlight into energy through photosynthesis. Then energy moves up through each trophic level (moves up the food chain) until all the energy from the begginning has been expended through movement between being eaten.

  2. the feed ing is, what that eco system can maintain and that whic is avalible (ideally) in a balance system this works great, but when "outside'  influences such as pollution corrupts the system its is thrown off balance.. take soap detergent.. this causes the eco system to retain less light thereby effecting those org's that need light (certain ratio's) to live, thrive, reproduce, another side effect is that detergents also cause other org's to multiple at far above norm limits... seem a plus, but these org's saturate that system, and has a diffent effect. concerning webs as mentioned the webs are now lopsided and this reverbirates up and down the chain... some believ that the chain and webs are delicate... converserly they are fairly flexable.. there is/has to be a degree of allowable change... some say the system evolved from and is dependant on change as in evavolution. i tend to agree in parts to this theory however it fails the  test when one considers that if evolving org's are still evoling then we would have multiple examples of this change today.. example a frog  evolving into another varient form. not noted as yet by my research.
