  1. It is the intracellular support of the cytoskeleton and also helps in transport of certain protein molecules.


  2. The microtubules are attached to  each side  of a chromosome`s centromere.  When the tubules contract, they pull the centromere apart, dividing the chromosome into two chromatids. (Anaphase begins when the centromeres begin dividing.)
