There are many perspectives to this question, depending on where a person works - for a small company, a big company, as a skilled or unskilled labourer, government job, NGO, etc..  I would think that the course you are studying has discussed the topic at length.  Your best source of information is probably your class notes.  Discuss the question with others in your class - possibly form a study group - and you may get good help.  Best of  luck with it.
