  1. The more energy you conserve, the less demand it puts on electric plants so they burn less fossil fuels thus creating less pollution. Also more people can power their homes if everyone conserves energy.

  3. Energy conservation is an essential part of making sure we dont run out of our fast decreasing limited supply of fossil fuels. By decreasing energy used in general we reduce greenhouse emmisions and reduce smog in built up areas. This leads into the very essential requirement of finding a new renewable engergy source to take the place of that of burning fossil fuels. At present the fossil fuel we do use can not be matched with that of the renewable enery forms currently being explored. So it can be said that environment and limits play hand in hand in this strong demand to conserve energy. The obvious point to mention also is the desire for many countries in 3rd world countries to have engergy and the selfishness of the richer parts of the word using such huge amounts of energy on less essential things for survival.
