  1. -to plan what the aim is-plan the learning intention so that the adults can recognise if the interest table is working and whether it needs any alterations.

    -scaffolder-play alongside them, encouraging them to talk about what they see, hear, smells etc through asking questions or starting the discussion off.

    -safety-making sure that the items on the table are appropriate, that they dont get broke or ruined during play.


  2. A worker should set up the table with items related to a specific them or curriculum area and allow the children to explore.  He/She should be there as observer and in case the child has more interest in certain items with questions.  The worker should always use opened ended questions provoking more thought and response from the children.
