  1. Rain is associated with low pressure and fog is associated with high pressure( particularly in winter).


  2. Low Pressure usually indicates precipitation in the form of rain/snow/sleet

  3. In simple terms: Drop means rain .... and a rise means clearing skies.  Pressure also effects wind. In a hurricane the pressure drops extremely low.  For instance during hurricane Katrina some of the lowest pressure recorded was seen.
