I'm going to a party at a Indian food restaurant, I've never had Indian food before. Could someone describe it for me or explain if its spicy, sweet, etc. Also, could you describe some of the main dishes that are eaten.

Thanks<3

  1. There are so many variations. You have to specify what region of India the restaurant specializes in. South and North are totally different,

  2. it's good.

I like their bread. it's good.

and some of the curries are good but you'll need to try them to see if you like them.

  3. It depends on region. Northern dishes tend to be creamy with yogurt based sauces. Southern dishes tend to have coconut milk in them. Some dishes are spicy, some are a bit sweet, the ones with tamarind are tangy. Even food from different states vary. I'm from Kerala, and and we have lots of dishes with rice, rice pancakes (appam), spicy, coconut milk based chicken curry, tangy fish and shrimp curries, etc.

  4. i have a few indian friends/co workers and i tried their food. its very flavorful, strong sometimes sweet. and ya a bit spicy not like pepper spicy but like acid cinamin burn on your tongue spicy. like have you ever chewed big red cinamon gum kinda like that. some of the curries thay make are very good. like eggplant and sardines and sometimes chicken. most indians dont eat beef, nor pork but they eat fish, chicken, lamb. o ya and i love their indian tea. its tea ginger, cloves sugar and milk. the tea is thick and very good. some of the desserts i taken are sweet too its like your blood pressure will go way up. they also make tortillas too. very good. i like indian food but sometimes my stomach cant handle it. so when you go taste little by little dont indulge in anything because you might be alergic who knowS? i think because they put so many ingredients so sometimes its too much to handle all at once.

    -hope this helps

    princess.

  5. Dont't worry. We went to a Indian restaurant and asked for a "special" with samples of all dishes served. It was a wonderful experience which me and my wife remember kindly. Unfortunately, we moved from that city and, now, we are living in a city with no Indian Restaurants. Also we don't have any Krishnas near us... :(

    Un Abrazo,

  6. specificly flavored, as in really spicy (as most Indian food is)

  7. It's very good. Flavorful. And each dish is different in terms of spicy, sweet, etc. Ask someone what each dish is and give it a little try. And just like chinese food you can ask them to make it as hot or mild as you like. Not all indian food is super hot.

  8. I love indian! They are curries mainly but they do a butter chicken which (if cooked good) is soooo yummy. Alot of it is spicy but they should do mild dishes which aren't too hot if you don't like spice. Don't be scared to try new foods you will be surprised!
