Desert Law looking to win Duty Free Handicap
Desert Law looks to be quite confident to unleash a big run at Newbury racecourse in a bid to claim the ace title of Dubai Duty Free Handicap, a Class 2 contest that is going to take place on Friday, April 20.
The Andrew Balding-trained bay gelding owns all the skills and capabilities to outplay her seven competitors including Medicean Man, Captain Dunne, Confessional, Blue Jack, Lui Rei, Cheveton and Mirza.
Containing £11,205 in the prize purse, the high-stakes race over a distance of 5 furlongs and 34 yards will commence at 1:35 (GMT).
Desert Law has won 2 out of his total 11 starts to date. The four-year-old talented horse staged his debut in August 2010 and broke his maiden in October 2010. His second victory came in August 2011.
Being a 5-1 favourite for his last outing entitled as New William Hill Iphone App Handicap, the maverick horse demonstrated a decent run at Doncaster track and finished 17th against 21 competitors. This race was held on April 1, 2012.
Thus, the energetic young gelding is awash with a lot of fighting spirit which will help him make a big impact in the Handicap.
If Desert Law manages to produce a clean and meticulous run, his chances to thrive will be as high as 90 percent.
Blue Jack and Confessional will also be able to perform well in the race.
Blue Jack has won 8 out of his total 38 starts since making his debut in October 2007. The Tom Dascombe-trained bay gelding’s last triumph came in July 2010. He finished 4th against 8 opponents in his last outing on March 24, 2012.
On the other hand, Confessional grabbed 10th spot each in the last two races of his career. Overall, Tim Easterby’s bay gelding has 3 triumphs to his name. He has participated in 33 events so far.
Keeping in view the above analysis, it is suggested that the competition for the Handicap title will be somewhat tough but Desert Law is likely to make his way towards victory convincingly. Good luck to all the runners.
