Design a pond for me

Thought this might be fun for some of you.

My son and I so admired a friend's multiple tub ponds in her back yard we decided to make one ourselves. I bought a 35 gallon round tub with three shelves. It is 18 inches deep. It is wider than it is deep, of course. It will sit under a protective arbor.

So, if you had this pond, what would you put in it? Get as detailed as you want but it should at least include a plant and a fish.

  1. I built my pond from a 120 gallon plastic mold that sits 4 - 5 feet deep into the ground. I also added in a waterfall, so the water can have an extra push through the underground sump that sits next to my pond. Aside from plants that are indigenous to my region, i added in water plants to my pond, which contains around 10 fully grown khois ( each of them around a feet and a half ). You can of course, shrink this down to accomodate your materials, but i'd still go for a waterfall its just so relaxing listening to the falling water, while your fishes eat food from your hand.

Oh, and Brianna? No turtles with fishees. Turtles will completely pwn all your fishes, and you'll just have floating corpses with fat turtles swimming nearby. ( experienced it when i was 7 )

  2. Get some water lillies from your local wal mart or lowes store, and some koi fish, goldfish, frogs, snails, suckerfish, catfish, turtles, whatever just go hog wild!!!!!!!!

  3. my bad i answered it wrong, well with a tub theres not much u can do copare to the ones they do with plastic bedding. but yea put water lilys so they can flot, they look kool

  4. what you can do is have your pond and then of carse have fish and stuff in it. but also have a bunch of bright and colorful flowers and plants around it making it have a sanctuary type feel. have an arch over th entrance w/ ferns hanging over it. then you can have a white brideg going over the pond leading into a circle gazibo thing w/ a sitting area that also has wooden seating areas (makes it look more natural) ir if you want more of a "facny" feel for the seating you can have black metal chairs. however they rust, and if you get any wooden seating or furnature make sure you put a finish on it so it lasts longer

  5. lilypads, koi fish, box turtles, and those rly cool looking leaves that u find near ponds that r light green with dark green in the middle and add some red flowers
