Well if you don't know the project beforehand then how can you prepare, just chill  and get a good nights sleep before the project day, I had the same kind of project (had too build a strong bridge using sum random material) but it wasn't graded or anything, I think they do it so you get used to ur classmates and get u interested b4 u start the mathematical side of your course.
