What are examples of designer drugs? I think meth, GHB, ecstasy are examples. But is rohypnol?

  1. Designer drugs are drugs which have been chemically changed or are marketed in such a way as to skirt drug laws.  Methamphetamine and rohypnol are not examples of this, but GHB/GBL and PCP/PCE are.


  2. Rohypnol was designed by a large pharmaceutical company  (Roche) as opposed to some college chemistry major dropout in a kitchen lab.  It has been out of production by them since the mid 1980`s, so all sources now are by illegitimate production facilities, particularly in Mexico and some Asian countries.

    All drugs are `designed` by somebody.
