Wot are them people called who design hosues ?

And do you no how much one would cost if u told them wot sort of house you wonted then they come up with a design

An architect.

Cost varries from design firm to design firm, also depends on how large the house is.

There are a lot of "free" designs on the web.  Search "house plans" and see what you get.

You really don't need an architect to design your house.  You can always seek services of residential designers.  The difference in cost can be quite significant.  On average in the Western United States, an architect will charge around $12/sf. plus consultants (structural and electrical engineers).  I've seen residential designers charge as low as $2/sf!  If you don't mind building a McMansion, you can always find plans available at bookstores and online.
