Deskjet 1220c paper feed problems

Question

My printer has now decided that it will not feed any paper from any position and takes much juggling and frustration to make it feed through one sheet of standard A4. This still happens regardless of the anount of sheets on the tray. Originally it used to take multiple sheets through. I didn't mind this so much as I had time to feed single sheets through, but this non-feeding problem is a royal pain. Do you have any suggestions as to what it might be/how to resolve this.
