Desktop Icons Switched in Vista?

Question

I am running Vista and all of my icon are associated with the wrong programs. Like AVG has the ATT icon, Firefox has some other icon and so does Thunderbird. Network has the IE icon now and the same for all the rest of them. I have run my virus program, I have run Ad-Aware. I still have the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?

well u might have to try to restore the old desktop

then re add all your old icons

just drag the icons from your computer, program files just to the desktop
