Desktop Owl or House elf? ?

About a year or two ago, I remember downloading either a house elf or an owl from Harry Potter onto my desktop, and it would sit on the homepage, bring me news and stuff. I'm not quite sure what they're called, but I lost it long ago! I was wondering if anyone had a link I could download a new one from? Please & thank you in advance.

They are called widgets. They are OS (Win, Mac or Linux) and software (Yahoo, Google, M$ and a lot others) specific so a widget will depend on what you already have. But you could install and use http://widgets.yahoo.com/
