Desperate help getting back lost pictures and videos!!!?

Question

ok so i downloaded some pictures to my computer from my canon digital camera, and iPhoto suddenly shut down, and my pictures and videos were deleted too. i managed to find the pictures in the trash, but some of them are smaller than usual, but its okay. BUT the videos are now listed as JPEG files, they wont play as a movie. so please, does anyone know how i can get them to play as movies again??? or get the other pictures back?? please help!!

try http://www.sourceforge.net free open source software

do a search for say, "recovering deleted files from digital camera"  search until you get results, I know there are some on there, I saw them while searching for something else.

(dont take any more pics until you try to recover the lost files or the data will be overwritten and therefore useless)

The jpeg files of the movies may be the previews you see on the camera, not the whole movies.

Your best bet would be to re-download your files. Are the photos gone from the chip?

Get a card reader and pull the files off manually. If the files are gone from the chip, either through the accident or on purpose, don't reformat the chip, don't shoot more photos on the chip.
