  1. You will have the best luck for scholarships by going to your schools fin aid office.  You can take out federal student loans in your name without a cosigner and without passing a credit check.  If the school is too much, then maybe you should look for a better school.  As a Jr or Sr, you can borrow up to 5,500 a year going full time.

Here is a good book about fin aid and the different loans.

  2. You've probably already done this, but have you filed the FAFSA?  That will provide loans for you that should not require a cosigner.  I also suggest that you look for an entry level job with a major company.  They usually offer benefits and partial tution reimbursement.  It may be worth in the long run.  Even bank tellers, teacher assistants, receptionists are eligible for this.  Best of luck!

  3. Wow, your situation sounds exactly like my brother's and it reflects what my situation will be in a few months when I start college. (I'll be working both full-time and part time to pay for my own college)  I like you, have to file with my parents' information on the FAFSA, and that is what limits me from getting financial aid because supposedly we 'make too much'.  Are you sure you can't get a loan without a cosigner?

I haven't read the following link myself but maybe you will get a few tips.

  4. With the costs of schooling so high, many students run into trouble paying their bills and end up with bad credit. Now you may be scared into thinking you cannot complete your education! However, there is still hope for cleaning up these financial messes<!--You can get student loans with bad credit from the government. The interest rates are low compared to other types of loans. If you go through a lender, your interest could be higher. There are different types of student loans with bad credit. . If you are an undergraduate or new student, two of the best student loans with bad credit are the Federal Perkins and the Stafford Loan. Both offer low interest for students.

Lets face it, getting a loan with bad credit is hard. You should try for one yourself first, and then if you don't get approved, find a co-signer. These issues with credit created student loans for people with bad credit. There are different types of loans in this category, one being the signature loan. Signature loans are activated-->after the receipt of a signed activation letter. Such a loan does not require a co-signer or collateral like other loans. If you have bad credit or no credit, your parents can help by getting a PLUS loan to help pay your education expenses.
