Despite all odds, the Texas Rangers continue march – MLB Update
No matter what issues and challenges the Texas Rangers face, they are not inclined to give up so easily. The recent discovery of Josh Hamilton’s alcohol consumption in Dallas caught many by surprise; nonetheless, the resilient club is on their feet, preparing
for Spring Training.
The Rangers are almost ready to set the ball rolling for Spring Training. The team general manager, Jon Daniels, is also imbued with confidence. This confidence is inspired by the incontrovertible fact that the team can and will revert to the position of
strength any time.
The GM attributes this adjustability and resilience to the leadership of Ron Washington as well. While it remains beyond question that the Rangers as a whole form a passionate and formidable group, their credit to a large extent, goes to the manager.
"You name it and this team has dealt with it and thrived on it," Daniels said. "That's a direct reflection on Wash and the leadership in the clubhouse, the players and the staff. These guys come to Spring Training ready to play and don't let anything distract
them."
While there is anticipation for Spring Training, the club does have the inerasable memories of the recent past two. For last two consecutive years, it is to be said, the Texas Rangers have fallen flat in the World Series finals.
In 2010, it was the San Francisco Giants that showed an exceptionally amazing performance to out-do the Texas Rangers; in 2011 it was the inability of the Texas Rangers to capitalise on the opportunity they had to win the title for the first time in the
franchise’s history by overcoming the St. Louis Cardinals.
However, those memories will not be the source of weakness for the otherwise springy and tough Texas Rangers. Instead, there is a determination to learn from the mistakes and make use of the experience that the team has had.
How will the Texas Rangers do that? By embracing and celebrating all of the achievements that they have managed to achieve over the past two seasons. That is what the Texas Rangers general manager emphasise upon when he spells out his future strategy.
"We want to embrace and celebrate what was accomplished and reward the people that made it possible, but you need to turn the page at some point. What I have been encouraged by is in talking to people and the meetings we've had, our players and staff are
hungry."
The Texas Rangers, it goes without saying, have the reasons to feel confident. From a strong and enviable 40-man roster, to the effective management; the club has all the flavour available to carry the day against all the unpleasant odds coming their way.
