Let us just suppose you are right.

I, for one, prefer Indon noodles - a brand of noodles from Indonesia but with tie-ups with the Philippine owners of PLDT (the largest telephone company of the Republic).  So, I don't think Indonesia is such a bad economy.   I don't even think Malaysia can come up with noodles that can rival the sales of Indon Food.

Having the biggest shopping malls in the world in the Philippines is a distinction, and speaks of a rubust and growing economy.

While this goes together with visible contrasts to stark poverty, it simply means our social services need to catch up with the pace of growth.   We have never been known to be a welfare state.   People still eat out there through the sweat of their brow,  unlike other "progressive" states in the region, who tolerate parasites.

its just like saudi arabia having all the oil in the world, equal distribution of wealth doesn't happen in the philippines. it's not just corruption, it's not just the law and order, it's also that the laws which guarantee the equal distribution of wealth(well at least fair distribution) are inexistent. take in mind that the country has been independent for only a few decades.

how can you have billionaires when 1/3 of the populations lives in poverty?

Due to greedy expense system of living of the Filipinos which is nothing compare in the whole world.

American and British eat only a corn flakes while Filipinos eat varieties food a day.

Having the three largest shopping malls do not guarantee a flourishing economy.  Blame it on the government and the kind of governance we have.  And blame it on the officials for being crook.  Imagine money from taxes are diverted to personal accounts with bank deposits here and abroad.  What government (and country) would remain afloat without sufficient funds to oil its machinery and make it functional?  Imagine money allocated for development being siphoned off to a favored few for personal gain and riches?

There might be graft and corruption in your country but not as rampant or as obvious as here.  You should be grateful that Malaysia is a very progressive country.

First there is no much advertisement of largest shopping mall in the world in other countries. The potential of the Philippines is great but it is not yet developed and the money of the OFW which can be used for production and create jobs are mostly used by their family to buy consumables like to eat in fastfood (although this create job) nice clothes, or mobile phones). If the government and the private sector imports more capital goods machinery for creating products example for construction, we can create more jobs and built houses at low price. Also we are not very much export oriented for our products only like to export in U.S. our garments have good quality which means it lasts long and can be exported to more than 100 countries in the world. The Philippine manufacturers should be given support by the government and expose their products in the international market. The price of oil affect our transportation so VAT on oil and other taxes that

makes people life hard must be removed. The baranggay level must assess who are jobless and train the people like the TESDA ( ex. to know how to weld or to make baking or sewing classes). In Japan in the 1900 's each house is like a manufacturing unit manufacturing spare parts for cars although only few people are working there.In China the government open up there country to investors assuring them of many incentives like low power costs, salaries although it is not sustainable.India and China have make use of the Internet to market their productsinternationally.We should learn from all this things

It's because corruption is at large in the Philippines. I believe, it's something that would take a very long time to be cured. Most of our government officials are only thinking about the benefits they could get from their current positions, most especially money.

The economic health of a country is more than just having the largest malls and/or having lots $$$$ to go shopping.  It is about creating jobs, creating industries, etc.  There are no jobs in the Phil.  More and more the country is becoming dependent on the $$$ sent from OFWs.  Instead, the focus should be to create jobs in the country and with it the badly needed industries that every developed country should have.
