Despite numerous difficulties, Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun confident – MLB News
The Milwaukee Brewers' outfielder Ryan Braun on Monday, July 9 recounted the difficulties he encountered at the start of this year, saying he had not dealt with anything more pressing than this before.
The player who was possibly faced 50-game suspension for failed drug test, nonetheless, won the appeal and came back with all the glare and grandeur characteristic of him. The Brewers outfielder, since then has not looked back.
Its evidence was served with his selection for the All-Star Game. It is his fifth appearance for the player in the All-Star Game, an honour in itself.
Difficult as all the tasks really were, he gracefully faced them and ultimately remained a victor.
“Any time you go to an All-Star Game, it's a tremendous honor," Braun said. "It's an extremely difficult thing to go, and obviously this year I dealt with some things that I hadn't dealt with before, which made it that much more challenging. It's definitely something I'm proud of, yeah."
He has had an impressive average of .306 this season with no less than 24 homers to his credit, hitting 61 RBIs. He has tried to charge up the team at a time when it has somehow failed to live up to the expectations of the fans.
That may not have gone down well for many. Nonetheless, his team and Braun still believe they can ultimately do it, having an opportunity to utilise.
"We still believe in ourselves," Braun said. "We still truly believe that we have an opportunity to get back to the postseason."
Braun did not have his team-mate Prince Fielder this year who actually made the other part of the duo. Prince Fielder might have gone to the Detroit Tigers, but he does keep his eyes on his former team-mate. For Prince, Braun remains a great player.
"He's doing what he normally does," Fielder said. "I just figured, Braun's a great player, and if he's healthy, he's going to be good.”
Braun, beyond any shadow of a doubt, remains one of the best contemporary players of the game. At a time when the Brewers are down in the Division, it will be up to him to revive the fighting spirit of Milwaukee for the other half of the regular season.
