Despite tricky draw, Black Tunoco looking solid in Williamhill.com Stakes at Newcastle
Black Tunoco has a big chance in Wednesday’s Williamhill.com Stakes at Newcastle, because he is full of spirit after taking a couple of fascinating triumphs lately.
After travelling nicely in the trials on January 15th, the black dog continued the fine work. On January 19th, he faced an unlucky loss. After getting crowded at the third bend, it was almost impossible for him to make any impact.
He raised his game significantly, and displayed an excellent show the last twice. After beating Briar Lane Tom by one and a half lengths, R. Kirk’s charge perpetuated his marvellous work, and bagged the first prize by a length’s margin last time.
Having grabbed two brilliant victories, the son of Ardkill Tunoco is in great momentum, and looks in an ideal position to stamp the rivals. Among his opponents are: Ruben Red, Honour Sean, Barbican Jamie, Hondo Marge, and Bush Hill June.
It is an A3 meeting that is due to be run over a distance of 480 metres. The officials will kick off the proceedings at 12:42 GMT. A cash prize of 123 pounds is reserved for the successful hound.
Hondo Marge, the grader, does not shrink the issue. There are concerns over her current form, as the b***h was awful in her last few races. Since her success on December 29th, the daughter of Hondo Black has been going through a lean patch, and
it will be a hard assignment for her.
Bush Hill June cannot afford to give these too much leeway. Her current form is also not very impressive. Barbican Jamie must ride the knocks from the fourth box, the one he is currently standing in. The black dog could only beat the back marker last time
around.
Honour Sean may not figure in medal ceremony. He is making a big step up in class, and will be under real pressure. The latest success is a morale booster though.
Ruben Red, standing in the sixth box, is going to be in the driving seat very soon, but we are not sure when will the fuel run out. We wish the best of luck to all the contestants.
