Does anyone have any from scratch dessert recipes that I can try out my new mixer with?

I know that kind of sounds funny but I have never made a cake from scratch and would love to. I also would love to try out my new mixer so any recipes anyone wants to share?

They can be any kind of dessert recipe really. Getting married in two weeks and would like to make the desserts myself for rehearsal dinner.

Thanks peeps!

  2. I love making homemade whipped cream to top desserts with my kitchen aid. you just use the wire wisk, put the whip cream in the bowl and turn the machine on med-high speed! in just a few minutes it fluffs up. add some vanilla and a little sugar(go light) its so good. make a chcolate pudding pie(or banana) and top it with your homemade whip cream, yummo!

Sorry but I haven't done a from scratch cake. I use the store stuff but the kitchen aid is great for chocolate chip cookies and brownies, follow the toll house recipe for cookies.

I love using my Kitchenaid for these recipes...

  4. if you are getting married in a few weeks, the best thing you can do is invest in some good cookbooks. Betty Crocker makes some nice ones, that are easy to follow, and use everyday ingredients. then there is the Company's Coming series by Jean Pare'- they are also good, and easy to follow. i own both, and have had them since i was engaged.
