I live in Canada, and my South Korean passport happens to be destroyed and thrown away. What can I do to get a new one? Could I just go to the Korean consulate/embassy and ask for a new one?

  1. Absolutely.

  2. You will need to prove that you had one and/or begin the application process over again.

  3. Depends on what kind of passport you want. For example you should be able to get an Emergency Passport to get you home (this is usually valid for less than 2 years) however, if you want a full passport (usually 5 years for children and 10 years for adults) you would be better filing a Lost and Stolen report at the local police station, taking that to the embassy and requesting a new passport (with ID such as a driver's licence, health care card, bills to prove where you live, possibly an extra guarantor to prove who you are etc). Expect to pay a fine for losing the passport and having to inform the embassy exactly what happened.

  4. bring your immigration card   and one other form of Id   they will cross check your name on heir secure   site   and will come up  with your previous passport   no sweat

  5. let ur family send ur papers to u ASAP, then go to the korean embassy in canada so they be able to give new passport.

good luck ... u going to need it
