We have a lumber industry in Canada,but it is  called logging when you refer  to the process of harvesting trees.They have machines that cut and trim the trees and puts the on a truck and drives them to the saw mill or they get dumped in a river and they float down stream to a better location to be hauled to a saw mill.The saw mill cuts the logs into lumber.
