Detail three different slab systems for houses...

can anyone please detail 3 different slab systems, including typical dimensions, size of reinforcing, where they are used, and characteristics of each. its for a building assignment...any help would be great..thanks

  1. ok i only know 1.

    this may be a little brief and general but it is what i have learnt working at Bunnings.

    there is the reinforced concrete. this is when "bar chairs" (round plastic stands) are used to hold rio (reinforced steel mesh) and then concrete is poured in.

    the height of the bar chairs ensures that the concrete is surrounding the rio, and strengthens the middle.

    this is standard for housing and pathways etc, wherever there is a large area of concrete to cover.

    I dont know much else about it other than that, except that the slab is usually about .5m.

    i would recommend going into your local hardware store in the morning (the earlier the better) and seeing if any of the tradesmen that work there can assist you with your assignment.

    if you wait till lunch, they will be busy (i work in trade - so i can say its true). try morn or before close.... slower period for the trade depts.
