  1. you'll have to post this again-=you just wont get answers here

um...click sociakl sciences/then gender and womens studies is one place

also family relationships is a good place

and what about under fiction or creative writing to get input from other writers?

my opinion is s*x sells...put it in, be graphic, be a bit shocking, be hot even (women like the idea of being "ravished"  secretly...its not often admitted or discussed, but they have fantasies

    put it in!

    detrail it real well

just when you get to a c word, say he "put it in and thrusting and all words lkike that...dont make any mechanical descriptions (like he put his c in my c) thats too graphic

  2. If the story is about the girl you should write it from the girls point of view.I would suggest to detail the rape but not too much if you want the book to be published, you want something every  person could read. .

  3. it would  depend on what adudience you're reaching out too.

which i assume to be teenage/adult.

detailed it always better in that type of situation...

it helps the reader imagine and almost feel what reallly went down. especially with rape...yes major detailing.

  4. make it so shes drunk and passes out and gets raped in like a back room or something and make it detailed ot hte point she like passes out and then on the next chapter make it like she wakes up with her clothes down and something u can make it either the dudes still rapeing her but she doesnt see his face clearly or that hes gone by time she wakes and she has to investigate to figure it out

what ever fits the plot bettter

  5. dont get to detailed, but dont leave people wondering. make SURE you put an age limit on the book, the higher the age group is, the more detailed you can get.

  6. hola! yeah i thought you might want to make it on the philippine setting which is nasty nasty.

its up to you on how provocative you might want to go. in actuality you are the one being rape... the writer i mean bieng rape by the mind. ok  forget that, its plain weird. As a reader i prefer it to be in detail i like to sympathize w/ the victim and all. OH you mention from the girls point of view? you might want to add her feelings of the time being of the rape and not her rapists bec. victims would usually shut down on rapes making it hard for them to remember the rape thereafter.

  7. well if you are talking about the rape i wouldnt completely describe  it at first if you still feel the need to, make a point where right before the story reaches its climax to tell the rest but leave a lot of suspense till then or it might become boring real fast, so tell what happen up the rape but leave it till later for suspense then fully describe it from her point of view

  8. Yeah, you should. That would make the book more interesting and it would help people understand how terrible and disgusting rape really is. It would be cool if you had some of her thought process included as she is getting raped. Just be sure to research before you make assumptions.

  9. That totally depends on the rest of the story. Maybe you want not to put to much detail into the "rape" itself, to build up suspense, but reveal little by little through interviews or flashbacks or storytelling with friends throughout the rest of the story.

You could also go ahead and describe everything in full detail, so that the readers know what is going on.

Another approach would be to not tell about the rape at all, again to build p suspense and reveal THAT she was raped in the first place.

There are a million ways to go about a story like that.

Maybe you could send me a mail of your book once it is done. I'd love to know how it turned out.

  10. You could try talking to someone who has been raped and actually use their point of view. See how much detail they would tell you and respond similar.

Touchy subject tbh. Get it wrong and you cold get some aggressive feedback.

  11. its a book so be pretty detailed.. but watch what you say cause people have actually had it happen

  12. well that's just like another book i've read called speak

try having her get raped somewhere else, somewhere more unexpected.

and use a lot of details that would make people not want to be in her place and yet dont go too far.

  13. dont describe it in detail.  If that happens to a gilr most of the time its too horrible to describe it because its like reliving it.

  14. I wouldnt describe in detail but maybe what she is thinking or feeling at the moment when hes doing____.

  15. Well how old would the girl be?  I think you should describe it but vaquely.  If you describe it to much the book could become to graphic.  but without some description you would never become attached to the girl.

I read a book about this sort of thing but she never got raped she just lied about it.  You should check it out for ideas.  It is callled The Tenth Circe by Jodi Picoult.

  16. You shold make the girl drunk so that they cant remember.

  17. lol hm. i love writting books :]

but i don't think you should go into detail..

maybe as far as him pulling her into another room holding her down and pulling her pants off.

haha. sorry.. if thats to much

but thats what i would do..

  18. Why don't you research rape, and base it off of the information you come across?

  19. You don't have to be too graphic to present a picture.  Every reader knows what a rape is.

  20. don't be very detailed.

  21. Too much detail will make it creepy and gross.

  22. not too detailed that would be disturbing.

  23. i know what your dealing with...i had the same problem. Just skip out completely on that (imply she was raped) and itll turn out grand!

  24. I'm a female and I hate young female rape victims. It's their own fault for dressing and acting s**y. They deserve it. Rapists don't deserve to be punished!

  25. Go with every lurid detail.   Write the best your imagination can take ya.   And then, watch how the editors rape every single paragraph.  A heartbreak, I tell ya!

  26. I would say go into enough detail to make the reader feel sad, but not enough to make the person feel sick.

  27. yeah it does depend on the age group but it is your book and you you should be true to the girl point of view show detail like you would and really life ,and do not going over board for the sack of the book and think about if the girl got raped i do not think that she would tell depending on the age if she is young she would most likely keep to her and let somebody find so if thought its a book make it seem really and like a little novel you would write in school

    -Hope it works out

  28. You can or try the What the girl is thinking while it happens approach. You can intertwine the rape and the thoughts at the same time.

  29. I think it would be better if you did describe it, rather than just skip it.

Don't be as detailed as how many times he went in or anything excess like that. Just get to the point without saying "And then she was raped."

  30. I think you should be detailed,as disturbing as it can be...It's what pulls the reader futher into the novel..to know how the charecter feels.

    Just an opinion :)

  31. You need to give as much detail as possible.  The reader needs to visualize.  Many details are needed visualize any events you write about not just a rape incident.  besides that, there are many people who don't really know what rape is.  Maybe your book can be educational for those people.
