Details about Marlay Park, Dublin

Question

Hi, I'm luckily off to see Muse at Marlay Park in a few days, but cannot find any site with the rules and regs etc. Am I allowed to take bottles, bags, anything in with me?

Does anyone know of a site I can check out, or has anyone been there for a gig before and have any tips please.

Ive been there for a couple of gigs and have found it a real pain in the *** to get to. Make sure you leave for the concert good and early with plenty of time to get there and if you can, leave before rush hour because otherwise you are adding a good hour to your journey.

Usually the don't let you bring bottles in, they either take the lids from you or make you throw them out. Definitely no glass bottles. You can bring bags but they will search them on the way in. If you need to know anything else just ask!

ticketmaster.ie usually has some regulations up, but they are more traffic based.

Your best bet, is just to take what you want.

I live just down the road from it,

Its in Rathfarnham 6 miles from the city center

You can get the number 16 from the city center if you're staying there it will leave you near enough to it just ask the bus driver!

It will cost you a pretty penny to get a taxi and there will be plenty of traffic.

You can't bring alcohol into the concert area(you should drink before hand, Trust me) and any bottles you have will have the caps taken off and thrown away so keep some spare hidden.

A good way to sneak alcohol in is to wear wellies and put it in them or somehow in the crotch area of ur trousers so when you get searched going in they won't feel it!

you can of course bring a bag, but theyll get rid of all ur bottles and cans. You can get the 16 from o connell street (just at the spire), and if you take that to the 2nd last bus stop you are at the entrance to marlay park! i recommend you drink on the bus - bus drivers dont mind that kind of thing here!
