  1. Jun. 21 - Thousands of people are fleeing their homes as a typhoon sweeps through islands in the central Philippines.

    Typhoon Fengshen triggered flash floods and shut the resort island of Boracay as it headed towards southern China.

    Local radio reported 12 people killed and another dozen missing in the southern region of Mindanao after the typhoon strengthened seasonal rains caused a river to burst its banks.

    Two other people were reported drowned in the centre of the archipelago.

    0845 UTC - PAGASA declared that Typhoon Frank has made landfall on Eastern Samar.

    June 21:

    Typhoon "Frank" has now changed its direction and was last located off the coast of Kalibo, Aklan.

    In its 11 a.m. report, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Adminstation (Pagasa) said that "Frank" continues to sustain winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

    "Frank" is expected to cross Mindoro tonight and will be located tomorrow 160 kms west northeast of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

    Signal no. 3 still remains in the provinces of Romblon, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Lubang Island, Calamian Group of Islands, Northern Antique, Aklan and Capiz.

    Signal no. 2 is hoised in Masbate,Ticao Island, Burias Island,Sorsogon, Albay, Camarines Sur, Southern Quezon, Batangas, Laguna, Cavite, Rest of Northern Palawan, Rest of Antique Iloilo, Guimaras, ****** Occidental and Biliran Island.

    Meanwhile, signal no. 1 is up in Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Northern Quezon, Polillo Island, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, Bataan, Rest of Palawan, Metro Manila, ****** Oriental, Cebu, Leyte, Eastern Samar, Western Samar, Bohol and Northern Samar.

  4. I have been watching that because my fiance lives in Samar and she called me by cell phone overnight.    The winds were 170kph and moving to the  northwest and causing some rough seas over Manila Bay and affecting Bicol with heavy rain and mudslides.. what else do you want to know?
