Details for India-Pakistan series yet to be finalised – Cricket News Update
While a bilateral cricket series between India and Pakistan has been confirmed to take place later this year, the teams’ respective boards have yet to get down to the nitty-gritty and finalise details regarding venue, scheduling, and revenue.
“We'd already agreed [in May] to playing each other, which he [http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829] reconfirmed,” PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf said in conversation with ESPNcricinfo. “We will play, that's for sure, but dates and revenue matters are yet to be finalised.”

Initial attempts on the part of the PCB to initiate a revival of relations were repeatedly rebuffed by the BCCI – however, the Indian board recently expressed an interest in striking up talks with the PCB, and in addition to allowing the participation of Pakistan’s domestic T20 champions, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 to watch the final of the Indian Premier League in Chennai during May this year.
The visit included a meeting between Ashraf and BCCI president N Srinivasan, and an unofficial plan for a short bilateral series was announced, tentatively scheduled to take place in December this year, during http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
The two board officials met again at the recent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 annual conference in Kuala Lumpur, and while both parties agreed to the series, discussions remained inconclusive as far as specifics are concerned. Owing to the precarious security situation in Pakistan, the Men In Green host home series abroad, in neutral venues such as the UAE. India, however, are reluctant to play at a neutral venue, although Pakistan have expressed no reservations with visiting India.
In addition to the venues, the matter of revenue is also likely to prove a point of debate. The PCB is currently attempting to overcome a shortfall of 70 crore Pakistani rupees in its 2011-12 budget, and will be expecting the BCCI to share the revenue from the series in order to make up the deficit. Reportedly, the PCB has also not recovered from the losses incurred in 2009, when India pulled out of a planned tour.
