Details on rats!?

Question

ok, canyou give alot of details on rats!?(like anything toys, food, bedding,ect...

i already know alot about rats but i would like to see if there is anything i dont know about them!(this is just for fun)

Let's see...This is just my experience:

Best bedding: Carefresh, Yesterday's News, fleece/towels cleaned daily.

Best food: Harlan Teklad, Mazuri, Regal Rat. (and of course, homemade diets such as the SueBee diet)

Best toys: Wooden/rawhide bird toys, empty toilet paper tubes, Chubes

They also love many of the ferret playhouses/tents/hammocks, although my girls tend to chew them to shreds, but my males treat them nicely. :P

Males tend to be more laid back, while females are non-stop activity. Lifespan is about 2-3 yrs, sometimes reach 4-5 yrs. Males do 'mark' their territory with droplets of urine. Sometimes, females do, as well. They love fresh fruits and vegetables, but you want to steer clear of acidic fruits if you own males (oranges, pineapple, grapefruit, etc.). Healthy cereal can be a great snack for them, such as Kashi Go Lean. Healthy dog biscuits is another good treat idea (Newman's Own is a good brand. Charlee Bear is another)

Some are chewers, some are not. Some are nippers, some are not. Some require a lot of patience to gain the trust of, while others make instant friends with everyone they meet.

they like toilet paper rolls and tissue to chew on and make bedding also like hard things like raw carrots to gnaw on .

I've had a few rats. My first one would just chill out on the couch with us, loved being petted, and was just wonderful. The two I have now are adventurous, though. They run all over the place, and like to make stashes around the living room. I even found a brush in one of the stashes the other day! I've never had a rat that liked running on the wheel... they all just like climbing. They seem to love newspaper and kleenex in their cages (along with the bedding).

I love pet rats!!!! all I can say is breed them cause The babies are amazing but only if you have a home for them like ask your pet store if they'll take them. And get hooded rats they're the most personable and athletic. I prefer having just one because they start to think they're a person and I love that! But if you can't give them a lot of attention buy two so they can have a friend to live with they're really cute when they clean/sleep/play with each other. + try to buy them from the same store/cage!
