Detergent stains? I think?

My white sweatshirt has what looks like blue detergent stains on it. Thing is, I always use clear, dye free, purfume free SUPER expensive detergent. (I have serious allergies) so, I don't know how it got blue streaks on it? Does anyone know if there are caused by detergent or something else? And how I can get rid of them? First time I washed the stupid sweatshirt!

  1. I had that problem with fabric softener. I just changed to a white one & no more probs!

  2. Sounds more like liquid fabric softener stains than detergent stains.  And if it is, they are permanent.

  3. Fabric softener is add to final rinse cycle so it can make them soft but you have allergics this would not be a good product to buy inless you buy one from Downy that is free & clear.

It can also be this liquid detergent that form with blue. I dislike them.

Try some some hyprogien proxide to remove the blue stain.

  4. Something left in the washer or dryer by mistake, a pen perhaps?  Without knowing what the stain is I can only make suggestions.  My favorite stain remover is CloroxII all fabric bleach.  I would saturate the stains and let set a couple of hours, but do NOT allow to dry, because it will leave white streaks wherever the CloroxII is.  On the other hand, that might actually solve your problem, without damaging the shirt, like chlorine bleach would.
