  1. 0.010M solution of nitric acid has 0.010 moles of nitrate per litre

find grams of nitrate in that litre, using molar mass:

    0.010 moles  nitrate @ 62.0 g/mol = 0.62 grams nitrate

    find mass of that litre:

    1000 ml @ 1.00g/ml = 1000 grams

Find % nitrate in the solution:

    (0.62 grams nitrate / 1000 g solution) (100) = 0.062 %

your answer is 0.062 % nitrate

    (2 sig figs)
