Whatever team wins the Stanley Cup, deserves the CUP!!!

If the winner(s) of the Stanley Cup every year was based on the opinion of which team deserves it more over the actual winner of the cup then 29 out of 30 teams would have their names on the cup leaving out the true winner.

h**l lets give the cup to every team next season except Detroit without playing a single game since none of these teams would have a chance against the defending champs on the ice just to make those who are jealous of Detroit's success happy!! That would be beyond stupid if this ever happened!!

Is it just me or is there a double standard when it comes to Detroit winning a cup? When Detroit wins it they don't deserve it but when another team does then they do deserve it( Unless you're the 1999 Dallas Stars??)?

Congrats to the Red Wings and their very loyal fans! 4 cups in 11 years. Right now the team is on pace to make it 5 in 12 years.

i agree with you. personally i think they did deserve to win this year and i dont mind hearing that they are cup champs agian. when you look at the coaching, players, and attitude of the team it all adds up to making a good team that has a great shot at success. this past year there is no doubt in my mind that they were the ones who deserved to win the cup.

I am a Hawks fan but Detroit clearly deserved the Stanley Cup, they won the presidents trophy as well so nobody can say anything about them not deserving it in my opinion but, that question does come up a lot because the NHL playoffs except more than half of the teams into the playoffs so if anybody under rank 4 won it or if Washington won it because they are so lucky their division was terrible because if it wasn't they wouldn't be in the playoffs right now. I do believe that Detroit can't be questioned as champions. But you can't say their "loyal fans" because you only know when fans are loyal if they stick around for the rough times, it's easy to be a Detroit fan when they just won the cup or are making the playoffs at high seeds or even low seeds. I know I am a loyal Blackhawks fan because they used to suck and truth be told last year they weren't that good, everybody says if Toews and Havlat were healthy the whole season we would make the playoffs, over half the teams in the league make the playoffs, so in my opinion anybody who doesn't isn't good, but this year should be very interesting. Also I do recall the Blackhawks beating Detroit in the season series last year so don't say "anybody who steps out onto the ice with us will lose" because that would be a lie.

I don't think it's ever a fluke for someone to win a stanley cup, or world series, or anything that's best of 7. They were and right now still are the BEST team in the NHL. They deserve the cup and whoever wins it next year will deserve it then.

I dont hear this too much.I hear it alot with the Hurricanes but of course they deserved it.The Stars deserved it too.IF the goal is disallowed and IF the Sabres win it in OT they still have to go back to Dallas where they were 9-3 that SC playoffs.Alot of IFS Howler.
