Detroit Lions Quarterback Shaun Hills says New England Patriots play dirty
Shaun Hill, quarterback for the Detroit Lions, accused the Tom Brady-led New England Patriots of playing dirty.
On Thursday’s Thanksgiving game between the Lions and Pats, Hill says that a player from the Pats tried to re-break his recently injured left arm.
In the second quarter, Hill rushed in a quarterback sneak play two yards from the end zone, at the Patriots’ two yard line. He extended his arm towards the goal line and was tackled.
He was playing with a fracture in his left arm, an injury received five weeks ago in a 28-20 loss to the New York Giants.
Hill says that he felt someone in the pileup trying to forcefully break his arm.
"That's why I eventually gave up the ball", Hill said. "Somebody was down there [in the pile] literally trying to break my arm, which is already broken. Literally, trying. And, uh, y'know, I guess [it] wasn't seen [by officials]".
The Patriots did not comment on the accusation.
Hill did not score on the particular play, but instead got a TD on the next one. The Lions won the battle but lost the war, 45-24.
Hill did not have any sort of problem with the quarterback sneak play, whether injured or not.
"I loved the call", he said. "I loved the call. Absolutely loved it. I have no qualms about running that play -- one-armed or whatever. I loved the call".
Detroit’s next game will be on December 5 against the Bears, while New England’s next will be on December 6 against the Jets.
Hopefully, no one else will try to break Hill’s arm.
Stay tuned.
