Detroit Red Wings hoping for a bright future next season after losing the series to San Jose Sharks

Detroit Red Wings is hoping that its future has a lot of good things installed for it even though it lost the series against San Jose Sharks.
It has definitely learned from its mistakes as last time out it was knocked out in five games but this time Detroit put up a strong fight.
Last year, Sharks knocked them out in five games but this time they levelled the series after being down 3-0.
The final game of the series was also very close with both teams coming up with a strong performance but in the end it was Sharks who won the game and the series with a 3-2 win.
There was something different about the team this time out as it was a reformed team, hungry to win and make its way into the Stanley Cup Finals.
It wasn’t successful in doing so but still was better than last year. Jimmy Howard strengthened his ties with Red Wings as he signed a two-year contract with the team.
He was brilliant during the regular season and came up with strong performances during the playoffs as well.
The season was pretty good for Detroit Red Wings but did not end the way it wanted as it lost the series to San Jose Sharks.
Red Wings’ coach, Mike Babcock, said that this time out the team that Sharks defeated was good as compared to last year, when the team wasn’t good enough.
The results in the series have shown that the series between San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings was the closest series in the history of the National Hockey League.
This was the first time that a series has six games decided with a slender one goal lead.
The only game that isn’t in the list was the game that Red Wings won 3-1, Game 6 of the series.
Red Wings was hoping for a fifth Stanley Cup title in 15 years but this didn’t prove to be the case.
Nevertheless, the team’s impressive performance is appreciated by the coach who says that the same team is capable of winning multiple Stanley Cup titles.
"The bottom line is the Final Four's going on and this is our second year in a row we're not involved", Babcock said. "Last year, we weren't even close to being involved. This year, you had to like where our team was. Those things are going to happen some
years or not, but the reality is we have to get better".
There have been many sparkling performances by players in the team while some haven’t been able to perform that well.
Players like Henrik Zetterberg worked really hard and bagged some decent performances while players like Mike Modano had a tough season and most probably won’t be in the team next year.
This gives an opportunity to new players as they hope to cement their position in the league.
"You'd rather not think about it", Zetterberg said. "Some guys will leave and you've just got to remember the good memories you had together. It will be tough".
