Detroit Red Wings host the San Jose Sharks
The Detroit Red Wings will be host the San Jose Sharks this Tuesday for the third time during the course of the season. Out of the two meetings that have already taken place between the two sides, both teams have won a game apiece.
The Red Wings won the first game 5-3 while the Sharks bounced back and won the second game 5-2 playing on home ice. During the course of the last game the Sharks got a lot of boost with their rookie star Logan Couture performing very well and scoring twice
during the game. The team was defensively very strong as goal keeper Antti Niemi made 25 saves during the course of the game.
The Sharks will receive a lot of boost as they traded Ian White from the Hurricanes to their squad to further strengthen their already strong roster. White has played for the Calgary Flames and the Carolina Hurricanes during the season and has scored two
goals and piling a total of 16 points. He had a decent start to his career with the Sharks as he came up with an important assist against the Colorado Avalanche which was also his 100th game in the National Hockey League.
"He's a good puck-mover, a good first-passer," Wilson said. "He plays the point on the power play. He's very competitive. He's kind of an over-achiever. We think he's a good player at creating offense, moving pucks and shooting pucks."
The Sharks have been able to come up with decent results which has put them a strong position in the Western Conference. During the course of the last 15 games, the Sharks have won 12 games in regulation time and scored at least a point in two games. They
are sitting in the fourth spot in the league and are in good position to win their upcoming game.
The Sharks won their fourth game this Saturday as they won 4-0 against the Colorado Avalanche. The offence and goal keeper coming up with brilliant performances with Antti Niemi making 25 saves in game.
The Sharks have played 60 games in the season out of which they have won 33 games in regulation time, scored a point in six games scoring a total of 72 points. The Red Wings have scored 80 points out of the 59 games they have played winning 37 games in regulation
time and scoring at least a point in six games.
For the Red Wings it was a important win against the Minnesota as Todd Bertuzzi scored a winning shootout goal in his 1000th game in the National Hockey League this Sunday. Jimmy Howard, goalie of the Red Wings made 25 saves during the game as
Bertuzzi becoming the 261st player in the league to have played 1000 games.
The game will is important for both teams as the Red Wings look to top the Western Conference while the Sharks look to move out of the close battle between the teams below them.
