Detroit Red Wings shutout Chicago Blackhawks 2-0 in Game 4 – NHL Playoffs

Detroit Red Wings are still powerful as ever, since they are now just one very comfortable win away from eliminating the Chicago Blackhawks and moving on from the 2013 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup
Playoff Semifinals.
Red Wings’ renowned goalie, Jimmy Howard, was at the top of his game Thursday night at the sold-out Joe Louis Arena in Detroit as he blocked all 28 shots on his net, while on the other side, Corey Crawford had
26 attempts.
There were some doubts against Detroit after they barely escaped elimination from the Anaheim Ducks in a series that went to seven games, but the Red Wings are now on the top of everything and showed it with
their 2-0 win against Chicago.
"I think we knew that if we played the way we did in the last two weeks of the season and the way we did in the Anaheim series [in the first round] that we would have a chance," Detroit captain Henrik Zetterberg
said. "We need everyone. We need players to play good and it starts with the goaltending, and when he plays the whole team plays good. Still, it has been close games. ... We've had a little luck on our side but we've just got to keep playing."
After a scoreless opening period, Jakub Kindl added the first of the night on a power play attempt half way through the second 20 minute phase of action. Jonathan Toews got booked for the second time straight
on a minor penalty for high sticking, giving Detroit an ample opportunity to get it into the net.
There was still a window of opportunity during the first 19 minutes of regulation in the third period for Chicago to bounce back but a closing goal by Detroit’s Daniel Cleary finished off the match and set the
record straight with 39 seconds left to go till the final buzzer.
"We've got to find a way to force a Game 6," Blackhawks’ captain, Jonathan Toews, said.
Red Wings and the Blackhawks will go head-to-head once again for Game 5 on Saturday in Chicago, which might be the last time they play this series.
