Detroit Tigers Brennan Boesch hitting his way out of trouble – MLB Update
Detroit Tigers right fielder Brennan Boesch is extremely happy for coming out of the slump. The 27-year-old had been struggling to find consistency in his game play since the start of the season and according to some sources, he was in danger of losing his
position on Tigers’ big league roster.
Credit should be given to him for showing great determination and fighting spirits in testing times. Pounding his way out of a slump, Boesch has given some impressive results over the last few weeks, looking confident than ever before.
In his last 18 Major League Baseball games, Boesch is averaging .349 with seven doubles and four home-runs and 17 RBI’s. His recent burst of energy has also helped the Tigers secure the top spot on the American League Central Division standings table.
In a game against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, July 24 Boesch belted a two run home-run against starting pitcher Philip Humber, going 2-for-3 to lead the Tigers to a much needed victory.
"You get down on yourself a little bit, you try not to, but it is only human nature to expect more out of your performance," Boesch said. "But I think you have to be patient with yourself, especially coming off a hand surgery that I had. But it can be hard
to be patient when things aren't going so well. You want to try helping your team every day."
Boesch missed a large number of games last season due to an injury to his right thumb. Many critics thought his career was over but Boesch stayed focus to reestablish his Major League Baseball career.
"Not really, I don't pay much attention to that," said Boesch. "Fans are going to do what they want to do. I've just got to go out and play the game at my best level."
Boesch made his debut with Tigers in 2010 after being called up from the Mud Hens to replace injured Carlos Guillen. Overall, he is hitting .254 with 11 home-runs and 43 RBI’s so far and it will be interesting to see if he can end the season on a high note
to help the Tigers win their second straight AL Central Division title.
