Detroit Tigers’ Prince Fielder knows how to handle the pressure – MLB
The hard hitting Prince Fielder is one of the most dynamic players in the game right now. In addition to his superb hitting qualities, the left handed striker ensures his best health and fitness to participate in all the games for his team.
Last season, Fielder displayed some high quality hitting skills to make a name for himself. Batting with a decent .299 average with 38 home runs and 120 RBI’s, he looked in prime form. Although he still holds some hard feelings for his father, he does not
let the emotions get the better of him on the field.
When Fielder made his Major League Baseball debut, many criticised him for his weight but surprisingly he proved everyone wrong by showing his amazing athleticism. He is easy to approach and he can be an asset to any MLB team. He is also known for his warm
behaviour with his team mates.
The slugging first baseman is all what the Tigers could have hoped before the start of season 2012. According to sources, Fielder wanted to be a part of Detroit Tigers since his childhood. He loves the city of Detroit and he will be looking to enjoy every
minute of his tenure with the Tigers.
"From the time I met Prince until now, he's always thrived off the chip he had on his shoulder," Gwynn said. "People said he was too fat, too big, he couldn't move well enough to play in the infield. And I think he takes it personal, and a lot of times those
emotions can spill out, especially when he was younger. You don't see it at all anymore really."
"He's a big teddy bear," Chanel Fielder said of her husband. "You want that fire on the field. It's off the field that you want him to not have it, and he doesn't."
Fielder is aggressive and fiery as anyone else on the field but he answered the questions very politely at a news conference in Comerica Park. Although he didn’t talk too much about his father and their relationship, he laughed and expressed his delighted
at signing the fourth largest contract in history of the game. He will be looking to perform consistently to help the Tigers reach World Series.
