Detroit Tigers catcher Alex Avila appreciates Miguel Cabrera’s calibre – MLB Special
The Detroit Tigers talented third baseman Miguel Cabrera has recently made some public comments about his retirement which are now under lots of discussion within the franchise. He stated in the media that he wants to retire as Tiger. Cabrera has been playing
with the Detroit Tigers since 2008 and not just he is playing with them but playing enormously well and has earned great respect for his offensive game.
“I think it's a realistic situation, We love what he does on the field, and what he does for the club off the field, He being one of the best players in the game, hopefully that can take place, I think he's happy here," Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski said last
week.
Regarding his recent comments to retire with the Tigers’ jersey, many Detroit players along with its management are praising him and telling the media about Cabrera’s real talents.
The Tigers catcher Alex Avila is also agree that his teammate certainly possesses large experience and high calibre. He said in detail, “He's one of those guys, where you're retiring his number on the wall and making a statue.”
Avila and Cabrera are teammates for a long time now and know each other’s hidden power skills. Avila is around in the Tigers roster since 2009 while Cabrera has been playing in Detroit’s big league team since 2008.
Avila finished the last season achieving consistent numbers of .243 along with nine homers, 48 RBIs and .352 OBP. His three-year career hitting average of .261 along with 40 home runs, 175 RBIs and .359 OBP also makes him a good role player in the league.
Miguel Cabrera has also strong numbers with the Tigers. In the recent past Major League Baseball season, he played wonderfully and achieved consistent stats. He finished the season on a high note and went with .330 hitting average along with 44 home runs,
139 RBIs and .393 OBP.
On other hand, Cabrera’s career stats are also quite consistent. He is currently going smooth where his career hitting average is at .318 along with 321 home runs, 1123 RBIs and .395 OBP.
