Detroit Tigers’ fans behind their team – MLB News
According to a reputed website, Detroit Tigers’ General Manager has stated the ticket sales for this season are going extremely well. The Tigers have powered their pitching and hitting lineups this season to become one of the favourites to win the World
Series title.
With the presence of Justin Verlander, the Tigers have one of the best pitching units in Major League Baseball. Verlander displayed some high quality throwing skills last season to win the Triple Crown throwing award. If he can maintain his astonishing form
in the upcoming season, he will have a crucial role to play in deciding the outcome of Tigers’ 2012 campaign.
Securing a nine year $214 million deal with Prince Fielder, Dombrowski has also strengthened Tigers’ hitting lineup to great extent. Fielder and Miguel Cabrera are the two of the best hitters in MLB right now and the Tigers will be looking to utilise them
to their maximum capacity. Although some fans are convinced that the deal could prove to be a disaster for the Tigers, Dombrowski has other ideas.
The GM further added that since Fielder joined the club, the ticket sales have picked up substantially, with Tigers surpassing last year’s record of 15,000 ticket holders. According to sources, the officials have set single ticket prices and it is not likely
to change until the end of this season. Tigers’ owner Mike Ilitch is very pleased with the club’s situation right now and he will be hoping the Tigers live to their immense potential this season.
Dombrowski didn’t disclose the exact number of tickets sales but he maintained that club has hit their sales target earlier than expected. Fielder, who has the fourth largest contract in MLB history, will have a lot to prove this season. He looked on top
of his game play in 2011 as he batted with .229 average with 120 RBI’s and 38 home runs.
The left handed striker will be looking to maintain his impressive form in the upcoming season as well to lead the Tigers to World Series glory. Tigers, on the other hand, will be relying heavily on Fielder, Cabrera and Verlander to fulfill their fans' hopes.
