Detroit Tigers hammer Minnesota Twins 6-4 – MLB Recap
Detroit Tigers hammered the Minnesota Twins 6-4 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Saturday, September 29 at Target Field in Minnesota.
Tigers’ played beautifully and earned a great victory in the end. They started well and kept pressure on the Twins during the entire game.
Detroit’s batters and pitchers showed their natural offensive game and won with ease.
Austin Jackson scored one run and smashed one hit on his five at-bats. He played aggressively and remained consistent on his .480 slugging percentage.
Left fielder Quintin Berry added one run on his single hit. He batted four times and showed great consistency with his .363 slugging percentage.
Third baseman Miguel Cabrera also played well and showed his class on his four outings on the plate. He scored one run and smashed one hit along with three RBIs. Cabrera’s performance stood tall against the entire Twins’ rotation as he remained consistent on his .603 slugging percentage.
"I want to talk about the team, There's too many distractions right now and been talking too much about Triple Crowns. I pull too much attention. I don't want to do that. I want to go out there and play my game," Cabrera said.
First baseman Prince Fielder added one run and smashed one hit along with an RBI. He played well on his four at-bats while his slugging percentage remained persistent at .522.
Left fielder Andy Dirks scored two runs and smashed two hits along with one RBI. He played well on his four at-bats as he also maintained his slugging percentage at .485 with great persistence.
On the other end, Tigers' pitchers also played really well and proved one of the winning factors for their team.
"It's unbelievable what he's done this year "Keep the MVP in the D" and Cabrera's name on the front. It's amazing to me how he keeps getting better. He's already the best hitter in the game and he keeps taking it to another level," said Verlander.
Justin Verlander pitched seven innings and received only one run and four hits. He retired eight and maintained his ERA at 2.64.
