Detroit Tigers looking to roar again in 2012 - MLB Update
Despite the 4-2 defeat in American League Championship Series (ALCS) at the hands of the Texas Rangers, the Detroit Tigers are looking forward to roar again in 2012. The Tigers as a team are now more encouraged and determined to bounce back whenever the next season will start.
Tigers’ catcher Alex Avila and Justin Verlander bluntly spoke to the media and tried to explain their point of view regarding the next season and described how important 2012 season is for Detroit.
Avila said, “I think we have a very good team that'll be together and contending for a long time. It’s a young staff.”
Later, Verlander said, “The message from (Leyland) was, we just played our hearts out, left everything out there, don't hold your head down, Hopefully it gives us that little bit of drive next year, the little extra oomph so we can finish this thing off. You look at our core players; it's an optimistic future.”
Earlier, Doug Fister and the Tigers’ general manager Jim Leyland also spoke publicly regarding their team and high hopes for the next season. Some baseball experts have also appreciated the whole Tigers’ team who are showing some great optimism despite the loss in ALCS.
According to some experts, the Tigers are going in the right direction and this positive attitude will help them tremendously in the next season. The Tigers are going right and they will certainly learn from their previous mistakes which cost them a chance to play in the World Series.
Those same baseball experts have also mentioned the fantastic 2011 season that Detroit Tigers have had. They played consistently throughout the regular season and continued their dazzling form in the post-season winning the American League Division Series (ALDS) against the New York Yankees. Certainly this fact will remain as the Tigers had a tremendous 2011 season and are now ready to roar again in the next season.
It will be interesting to see how the Tigers bounce back from their loss in the American League Championship Series (ALCS) to the Texas Rangers.
