Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Driver: San Francisco battle it out for top spot in the charts
Another week has gone by in United Kingdom’s gaming industry and thankfully, it is another week away from the torrid period where Zumba Fitness had topped the charts for such an agonisingly painful period.
It seems that while many may have laughed, Bettor.com’s analysis of football players and managers using the game to boost their fitness ahead of the new Barclay’s Premier League season may have been more accurate than many thought. We are not one to gloat
though and the previous week saw one major mover in the charts along with the usual suspects doing what the usually do.
The Sims 3 continues its slide down the charts as it settles into the number 10 spot after another week of disappointing sales. However, seeing how the game was in the top-3 for so long, the decline is understandable.
FIFA 12 may be just a few weeks away but that does not seem to have deterred the sales figures for FIFA 11 as it finds itself in the top-10 of UK’s sales charts at number 9. It seems the game truly does not know when to give up, or maybe it just cannot hear
the fat lady singing.
Cars 2 is still managing to keep itself in the race at number 8, with the hype for the film dying down though one can expect the game to fall even further behind the competition over the coming weeks.
Still driving Explosive Remote Controlled Cars up opponent’s behinds is Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, which is at the number 7 spot. Although, one can imagine that the game will go by the way of the Samurai when Modern Warfare 3 comes out, this November.
Apparently the people living in UK are confused as to which sport is real football as Madden NFL 12 is sitting high and mighty in the number 6 spot for the previous week, outselling its soccer counterpart by quite a margin.
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is still building away in the charts as we enter the top-5 places and is just behind Rugby World Cup 2011. It seems people in UK seem to enjoy getting physical at the moment. No pun intended.
Zumba Fitness may not be at the top anymore but it is still in the top-3, as it continues to annoy the hardcore gaming demographic, not just in United Kingdom but all over the world.
Debuting at number 2 in the charts is the first true next generation Driver game. Driver: San Francisco is finally out and is doing pretty well for itself.
Taking advantage of all of its augmentations and keeping the number 1 spot is Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
That is a wrap of the overall game sales charts in United Kingdom for this week, expect more chart news next week.
