Deus Ex: Human Revolution tops UK’s Xbox 360 charts, Madden NFL 12 selling well
It has been another hectic week in the video game charts in United Kingdom when it comes to sales of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 titles and we here at Bettor.com are here to provide a recap of how the top 10 games fared.
Hanging on for dear life, after the Drug Enforcement Agency blew the lid on them, Call of Juarez: The Cartel, is all set to finally go to court and get convicted of being a rather disappointing game. That was just an elaborate way of saying ‘the number 10
spot’.
Reaching out and trying to slow down its slip down the charts is the Xbox 360 exclusive first person shooter phenomenon, Halo: Reach. Just off the bottom in the number 9 spot, it seems Reach may still have some fight left in it.
Getting harsh treatment for critics and a majority of gamers as well, it is a surprise to see Brink still in the charts at number eight; however at the same time it is nice to see a game which took a huge risk and dared to be different earn some bread for
its efforts.
Still one of the best online multiplayer experiences in the market, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is doing a fair amount of business even after spending over a year in the market.
One of the only two driving games in the chart for the week, Codemasters’ slick handling Dirt 3 comes in at the number 6 spot. It seems people just cannot get enough of the good old power slide in the dirt.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is selling well, especially after the Rezurrection DLC pack. Making the number 5 spot its own, the best selling game of all time is continuing to sell even more.
United Kingdom seems to have abandoned football and gone on to American football as Madden NFL 12 tackles its way into the number 4 spot.
However, showing its true roots of physical gameplay, Rugby World Cup 2011 sits one spot above its American ‘rip off’ at number 3. Debuting at number 2 is Driver: San Francisco. The Driver series had been absent a long time and it seems that there were many
fans waiting to get their hands on the game as it jumped straight into the runner-up spot for the week.
Still punching through walls at the number 1 spot is Deus Ex: Human Revolution, as the game rakes in the two ‘r’s crucial to a game’s success: reviews and revenue.
