Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open to feature strong field
The Deutsche Bank Ladies Swiss Open is going to be held from June 8-10, at Golf Gerre Losone, Switzerland, with a competent field, also featuring three life members of the LET (Ladies European Tour) and others.
One of the prominent contenders confirmed for the field is Laura Davies. According to the details, Laura has shown her interest in the roster, saying she is ready to take on rivals.
Moreover, the tournament will also feature seventeen of the top-20 players from the Order of Merit, making the event even tougher.
Tournament officials said that the strong field will make sure that spectators have their best time on the course, while players will also enjoy playing in a challenging environment.
Speaking to the media about the field of Deutsche Open, Tournament Director Professor Hanns Michael Holz said that he is happy to see so many competent players in the roster, and he hopes that the event will prove beneficial not only for players, but also
for Swiss golf.
He said that he was particularly thrilled that players like Laura Davies are also in the field, as the tournament really needs contenders who attract big crowds.
Holz also informed that Helen Alfredsson and Trish Johnson are already in the field. He said that everybody has been waiting to see these stars put their skills to the test in Switzerland.
The Director went on to say that Swiss fans love Alfredsson for her unique style, and more spectators are expected to turn up this year.
“It is always a pleasure for me when Helen Alfredsson comes to Losone, she is after all one of the most impressive lady golfers in recent history,” Holz shared.
Praising Trish, Holz said that she is one of the best contenders on the LET, as she knows how to cheer up the crowd.
“Trish Johnson has represented Europe eight times in the Solheim Cup. It is a great honour for any tournament organiser to have such worthy and successful pros at the start”.
Analysts said that due to the presence of big names in the roster, it is hard to predict who is going to steal the show this year. However, underdogs are also likely to give a tough to their rivals.
