Deutsche Bank continues to promote golf in the US
The second FedEx Cup playoff’s sponsor, Deutsche Bank has agreed to extend its sponsorship for the event till 2016. This is a huge step, as many big name players take part in the FedEx Cup playoffs.
Deutsche Bank is the top most bank of Germany and is a big promoter of golf in USA and in Europe as well.
The tournament will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and a boost was given to the tournament when Deutsche Bank announced that it will be extending its sponsorship for the event. Deutsche Bank has been the prime sponsor for the tournament
since 2003.
The bank has also been working on a noble cause alongside promoting golf. The tournament has so far generated more than $20 million for charity. The main organiser of the tournament is the Tiger Woods Foundation, it is also the main beneficiary as well.
The Tiger Woods Foundation works on the betterment of children across America. Its main aim is to improve the health and educational standard for the poor children.
The event also benefits numerous other charities across the States. Special events are also held to raise the money for charity.
"We are extremely proud of the success and positive impact the Deutsche Bank Championship has had over these first 10 years," Seth Waugh, CEO of Deutsche Bank Americas, said in a statement.
It is a feat that almost nobody has ever managed to achieve - a bank from Europe is investing in the charities in America and more importantly promoting the game of golf.
"The tournament's growth and ascension to the FedEx Cup Playoffs is a testament to the great fans of New England and terrific partnership with the PGA Tour and Tiger Woods Foundation, as well as EMC as the local presenting sponsor. We are delighted to announce
the continuation of our title sponsorship through 2016".
Tiger Woods Foundation also holds the AT&T National annually. This year Tiger managed to win the AT&T National.
Can he win again at the Deutsche Bank is yet to be seen but he is certainly being tipped as one of the favourites, even though he did not live up to the expectations at The Barclays.
