Question:

Developed Countries - Better off than Developing Countries?

My son has been trying to get a job in India - the resistance from the Indian people is huge, they simply cannot believe that a Citizen from a 'developed' Country would want to work (for a low wage) in India/Asia. The people of Developing Countries are happier, more content than those in Western society. The developing Countries think we have it better - I believe the opposite to be true - they are the lucky one's - true family values, help one another in the community etc- they are the one's to be envied. My son is very disillusioned with the 'Western World' - and loves India and it's people. He doesn't have degrees etc but would like to live and work (and learn) in India - does anyone have any ideas/experience of where he can go or what he can do to, hopefully, find employment and settle in India?

Also, do others agree with me - that developed Countries, although they are financially richer, are worse off because of being so materialistic, lack of family values etc??

  1. If your son was brought up in India. I seriously doubt he'll forget any of family values that you have taught him since childhood. It really all comes down to his willpower.

What I'd recommend is that you send him to that western country for some time, see how he likes it. Because India is growing at a very competitive pace... with an experience in a western country, he'll be more likely to get a splendid job when he returns to India.

Moreso, I personally feel that everyone should have at least some level of experience in a diverse or a different culture to truly understand the merits of your own culture.

  2. india is trying tobe a developed country and will be si about 2020. as per Dr. kalam.  west illusion  is not due to a developed and developing country  differences-- it is due to family system in west husband and wife are to primary members. son grows up and get separate or is separated as soon as he/she get married it is due to the sociocultural diferences.-- these are coming in india very fast.in western countries---chacha - taue-brothers--sisters--mama mame bhabhi  etc etc  are members of extended family but in india they are our family members and all are concerned for one and one is concerned for all.

  3. ludhiana in punjab has some if not the best colleges in india. verry up to date and western. yes i think he will be happy there.  because they have millionares then they have beggers and top scientists then people that have never seen a school the people a just so grateful and accepting of life. in nz if i work at a fast food place and dropped out of cchool at 14 then im judged here as low and truely i have not many friends but moving there i was so happy because i no how to read and wright and i made a income im not judged or low ive been blesed and luckey to get a good life so i had many friends. what im tring to say is that your special there for who you are and whatever skills you have not like western places where a suit and great house make friends,
