Developing a quick wit

How would you suggest going about this? I am far wittier on paper then I am on the playing field and would like to make a crossover. Any suggestions??

  1. Get into debates or arguments with people with wit. Eventually the wit you present on paper will come out against them.


  2. I agree. Take improvisation classes. It will be great. Learn the basic concept of improv and it will help you in a lot of situations.

  3. Since you asked this in the Acting & Theater section, I think you may already be guessing what one answer will be, and this is one:

    Get yourself into an improvisational theater class or workshop. You'll learn to think off the top of your head, adapt to changing situations and environments, work with other people easily and quickly, and improve your confidence and your communication skills. The exercises and practice will carry over onto whatever playing-field you find yourself. Your wit will rise to the occasion.
