I am doing a research paper on autism and I've searched the internet over and over trying to find the developmental outcomes of autism. This is a required piece on the paper and I'm clueless on it. Anybody know of some things or a site that talks about it? Thanks.

  2. The first replier is correct. Every person diagnosed with autism has a different developmental outcome. Some are highly interactive and social, others, sadly are not. My nephew suffers from Asperger's Syndrome and is highly functioning. His mother is the president of our local Autism Society Chapter. I invite you to view the website and links and perhaps you can find some assistance. Please visit

www.asagreaterakron.com. Check the link to "Autism Speaks" also - it is enlightening. Good Luck with your reasearch. I hope I have not simply given you information you have all ready been aware of.

  3. Developmental delays and developmental issues are different for every child with autism.  Not one is the same and not one has the same set of delays or deficits.  It could be delayed language, it could be a severe lack of attention, the lack of comprehension, the lack of motor skills (fine or gross).  There are many different outcomes.
